Microtel by Wyndham Tianjin Hedong

Stone-hard bed, carpet full of dust and hair, very used bathroom, broken panels for AC, smell of smoke, poorly equiped rooms, dirty towels, breakfast choice not good - one room for all people with tiny space,... Won't recommend this hotel at this price.

I was visiting friends at Tianjin and chose this hotel as it was near to where they stayed. The carpets along the corridor were extremely dirty. However, the carpet in the rooms looked clean and the room was clean, a stark contrast to the corridors. Sterilised bathroom slippers were provided on top of the bathroom slippers which was a plus point. A major plus point for women was that the bathroom had a close up mirror, something I did not expect from staying at a hotel at this price! The beds however, could have been softer. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very worth the price and I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed here for nearly a week visiting relatives and waiting for cruise from port. Located on main road not to far from Tianjin CBD. Good bus service, plenty local eating places. Covered markets nearby plus street markets on weekend. Check in easy and English was understood. A few Western guests were sighted so should be ok for non manadarin speakers. Asked for room high and at back of building away from noise. Entrance on front to right , were lift taken to 3 floor reception or enter around back on left , again lift to 3rd floor reception. Room pleasant, everything clean except carpets which were a bit grubby but carpets other rooms looked ok. We arrived around national holidays and marriage session, which meant hotel booked out and no real choice of rooms if found not to your liking. Hotel very busy with marriage receptions/guests so breakfast was a bit crowded but after holiday period ended numbers dropped off dramatically. And the room had a small bar fridge that actually worked ! Safe in ward drobe. Daily service/clean good with free bottled water replenished. Breakfast mainly western but some attempt make to include some western basics. Eggs cooked to your liking, bacon , baked beans......but toast was somewhat of a problem. Brewed coffee was available, so it gets bonus points for that. Will used again as it ticked many boxes for us and relatively speaking , this was a reasonable Chinese 3 star hotel.
