Tianjin Golden Ocean Hotel

I stayed here during a brief business trip in Tianjin. There was a breakfast served daily on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. They serve complimentary hot tea at the front desk of the hotel. They also lent me a wall plug to charge my laptop. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance or a bus ride to shops, banks and places to eat!

I stayed at the Ocean hotel only for the one night and I wish it was longer because I really enjoyed my stay. The receptionist could speak English and he was extra helpful and kind. My room was clean, worm, overlooking the Tianjin eye and other shiny buildings. The morning view was even more beautiful. I had a breakfast included in the price, and that was nice too. Even though it says "western style restaurant" when you enter the place, the food is mainly Chinese, which I really don't mind, cause I like it and it was delicious. The stuff in the restaurant can't speak English, so serve yourself and find everything you need :)

I would like to say that we are very very disappointed !!!! The hotel is very dirty and old. Staff does not speak English ,are not helpful, not polite at all. One lady speaks English, saw her once, but when I asked again to speak to her, she was never available or not there..... When we checked in, they blocked 5000 RNB on your visa for the minibar ...... there was not even a mini bar in our room !!!!! They clean the room in not even 3 minutes !!!!! Sometimes they didn't  even made up our bed. They did not swipe the floor in our kitchen and bathroom during our stay !!!!! I know because I always staid in the room until they finished. I was glad there was a gym in the hotel until I went to see it !!!! Dirty, bad smelling carpet !!!! The equipment was stored in a corner, because it's not usable anymore. Rust, torn leather seat, ..... The only thing in good condition was the treadmill but I did not wanna workout in that dirty room. So no workout for me ..... I even took pictures of our room. Nothing to compare with the pictures on your website !!!!!!! Carpet full with stains and a bad smell. Dirty bathtub, dirty tap, dirty equipment in the kitchen, a loose tile in the bathroom fixed with tape, dirty fingerprints everywhere from previous guests etc etc..... Really disgusting !!! Internet is very very poor. Very slowly. I complained at the reception. They would fix it. NOT !!!!! It is normal, they said, a lot of people are using the internet !!! SO ?????!!!!! Breakfast is terrible and poor ! Coffee was not available. Dirty plates and glases. We asked for a fork and a knife. It took 15minutes !!! We only went once, lucky for us there was a Carrefour around the corner. I was so happy to change to the Ritz Carlton !!!!!! There where no more rooms available during the beginning of our staying in Tianjin. And guess what ?? The Ritz Carlton is even cheaper, cleaner, very beautiful, excellent staff, .... !!!!!!
