Kashi Airlines Hotel

Very busy place even when we arrive close to midnight. The room is very spacious and clean. Unfortunately, I did not get a non smoking floor. Woke up in the middle of the night by cigarette smoke from next door. The design of the sliding door the shower needs to be managed carefully. Have stayed in better hotels in Kuqa and Urumuqi during this trip.

This is my second stay at this hotel. The room rate was reasonable (booked via a popular Chinese online agent). This was probably the only place in the city that accepted AMEX. As with all other major places in the city, you must pass through an arch and place your bags through a scanner. The rooms are of adequate size. While not brilliantly clean, it was not so bad. Internet speed was fine for local websites (and those that use cloud caching). If you're depending on Internet for Enterprise VPN connections, I found Wireless worked better than a wired connection. (In our room, there were two network points, one of which was connected to the WiFi Router and Smart TV setup). Housekeeping and maintenance staff were excellent and went out of their way to offer help without us even asking. Location wise, there are plenty of shops nearby, most of which you would need to cross the roads via the underpass to have access to.

Near the down down Kashgar or Kashi. Looks great and modern from the outside. Hot water is not functioning. Air conditioning is set at 28 Celsius and can not be changed. Hardly any english speaking staff, They say the have a busniness center but in fact there is none. You get unsollicitaded call from escort girl in the middle of the night. Hotel is also home of Karoke night club.
