Lakeview Golf Hotel Kunming

The lakeview hotel is located right by the Dian Chi lake. It’s in an excellent location for day trips to the dragon gate grotto (10 min bij car) and to the Shilin stone forest (a little over one hour by car). The hotel is a smaller luxury hotel, with excellent service, from checkin to the business center and concierge, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The manager speaks English, other staff probably not. The restaurant is very good, accommodates all kinds of wishes, from no MSG to low salt, and has a wide selection of dishes. They open till 11, which is great for a late arrival. Breakfast is very extensive, with Chinese and Western options, fruits, eggs, vegetables, and meats. We had room 222, which is very spacious, facing the golf course, which is quiet. The bed is comfortable, and there is free water, coffee, tea and fruits in the room. All in all this is a great option for travellers that want to do sightseeing in and around Kunming (even more if you’re a golfer, which we aren’t).

Must play here when in Kunming. Great lay out and well maintained fairways and greens. Superb caddies very helpful and smiling always. In the city and easy to get to. Lots of lovely homes on the property. Good layout and all kinds of Golfers will enjoy playing here.

Excellent golf course. However, rack rate is very high so ask for a discount which they are quite ready to offer...about 1100rmb with cart and caddy (not including caddy tip of 100rmb). Golf in China is expensive averaging 2000 rmb, but deals are always available. The manager/director Stanley speaks English and was very helpful in getting me a private car (Uber-like) to take me back to the Grand Park Hotel for 80rmb. Did not stay at the hotel, but it looks nice and quiet...quite a way from the city.
