Super location and good service.
There is no lift but the counter staff helped me to carry my luggage to the second floor while I checked in and checked out, surprisingly, he refused a tips.
No staff can speak English except the Hotel Manager. She is helpful and assisted one of us to amend the flying schedule using her own personal hand-phone, and without collecting a fees.
The breakfast is so so. Coffee ran out and there was no replacement!
The room is clean but the lights are insufficient! Very dim inside and we have to open to curtain at night to allow external lights to come in.
Do not try the massage inside the hotel. The massage is being run by a lady. 4 of us booked a massage session and we were promised by this lady that our booking was confirmed. However, when we reached her massage place ( a little hotel room), she told us that some customers walked in and she could not refused to take them, thus our booking has to be postponed fro another 1.5 hours! We were fumed and told her that this is NOT the way to conduct business!
We walked to a nearby massage shop which is clean and good, just 5 minutes' walk from the hotel.
TV channels are limited but wifi was strong.
We stayed 4 nights at Block B.

Well actually I am one of the owners, and I know it is kind of weird to do so, anyway I am just trying to do something to make you a clear image of Huama Hotel. It has been 5 years since last time I visited there. Before planning this trip, I had a thought that I was expecting a lot of changes referring to the previous experience of stay. Well mostly it is free for me, of course, and truth be told, almost everyone knows who I am while staying there, so ..failed, because I could not pretend to be a normal visitor so that I could not experience the most common treat like the other tourists do. However, I would like to leave a few of sincere comments here and I wish it could help to upgrade the hotel services or it might be helpful for anyone who is planning to visit Lijiang and struggling with hotel selection.
1. The hotel rooms are great except for those rooms facing the BBQ street. Last time there was a few of BBQ stores, now it became a BBQ street! For those who needs a quality sleep after long flight or tiring trip, please do not pick these rooms, even the room rate is much lower.
2. The rooms I stayed were hygienic, and you may reach for anything you need if it is not yet appearing in the room. I love the mattress honestly, it might be slightly hard for tourists from western countries though.
3. The location is perfectly match tourists' needs no matter for long-stay or short visit. as in you could get anything you need at Huama Street. You may search at google map, it is just about 35 mins drive from airport to the hotel. 15 mins walk from the hotel to Old Town, 5 mins walk from the hotel to Black Dragon Pool Park. Food, clothing and entertainment, just simply anything.
4. If you are looking for a fine hotel to stay without worrying about 24 hours hot-water service and air-con service. I tried to stay in a boutique hotel while travelling to Shangri-la this time, the hotel staff ridiculously replied there is no air-con service from May to August, and the "hot-water" is just about 30°, imagine that you had a intense day trip in a raining day and the night was cold, and you were expecting a hot bath or at least a warm room?
5. English service, it still needs to be improved. For now, you may only reach hotel manager for some English service, not everyone, not even receptionist. I am still expecting we could have more staffs who speak English.
6. Breakfast is still the same, nothing was delightful except the rice noodle, i was expecting at least some toast with butter, but only a can of jam there, shame. I guess nobody would like to experience such traditional Chinese dishes at early morning, it is too heavy for us.
7. For those who are interested in some Chinese culture and Lijiang local fairy tail, you may walk through block A to B, and look at your right side, you may see there is a story showing on the wall as HUAMA SHUO.
I know it is kind of too much as a review, I am looking forward somebody would like to share their experiences of stay here though. Thanks in advance, we are keep improving our services for you.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel. Its pretty new, located in a new area of town (most of the storefronts are still empty), but only 5-10 from the old town by taxi. The staff doesn't speak much English, so if you stay here, be prepared for lots of communication problems. The room we had was a suite and very spacious, though the bed was hard (common in china). There is high speed internet for a nominal charge. Breakfast options were not good however, and we found ourselves skipping it. We also had quite an ordeal with check out, due to communications problems. However, as so many hotels in China are borderline unsanitary, this one still gets my recommendation for clean, comfortable rooms.
