Lijiang Kinghan International Hotel

This hotel is also known as Lijiang Kinghan International Hotel or King Han Lijiang Hotel. Strangely, different names at found on the room key card and notepad. The room was spacious and quite comfortable. We only stayed one night. The shower was not as good as it has low pressure. The breakfast selection was poor for international guests. It was quite messy with no organisation and order. The tables were in banquet setting and you just sit anywhere available. Overall, it was an ok experience.

This hotel was popular for the inbound local travellers from other parts of China. Our tour agency arranged for this hotel for our group. This hotel has 3-4 blocks. We stayed in Block A, the main building. From the outside, this hotel looked very presentable. As you stepped into its lobby, the golden sculpture of a dragon like greeted you together with a long aquarium. Guess it must be the work of a feng shui master. The lobby area was very spacious. The room size was adequate but not so spacious. May be it was a standard room. The bed was very firm and not so comfortable to sleep on. It was almost like sleeping on a floor with a straw mat. Room was not properly cleaned when we checked in. Overall cleanliness was below average. The room interior looked a little old. Breakfast was served in the adjacent Block B. So, it was a little troublesome to get to the other block for breakfast in the cold morning. Mad rush for breakfast with the local travellers. Spread selection main the local cooked dishes catered more to the locals. There was also the fried eggs and noodle station as well as the usual congee. If you are not a fan of Eastern breakfast, then just head toward the fried egg section plus the bread with coffee would be sufficient. There is a Walmart about 12-15 mins walk from the hotel. Turned to the right from the hotel entrance passing by the KTV toward the traffic light. Turned right of the traffic light and walked for another 400m. Walmart is on the left side. This is a typical local hotel catered mainly for the local tourists.

This Hotel was arranged by Tour Agency. We stayed here from 1st - 3rd Jan 2015. We were told that they are 5 Stars Local Hotel. Unfortunately, many 2 stars Hotel are better of. Plus Point Location - Only 5 mins drive to Lijiang City. Room - Clean and bed comfortable Disadvantages of staying here Room - No racks for you to hang the towels and neither do they have anything for you to hang your clothes after washing. As such, we have to hang them in the wardrobe, chairs and anywhere we can find a place to do so. Bed was not done up when we came back from day trip. Staff - They don't speak basic English and I have lots of problem communicating with them. Laundry - We called and asked for laundry service upon arrival at night. Was told that it's only available in the morning. However, were take them 24 hours to deliver after wash. I requested for express service and told them that we are with the tour group. As such, will be leaving around 8+. We were then told that the hotel does not provide laundry service as they need to send the laundry out. When we asked the staff for the nearest laundry service, we were told that there's one behind the Hotel. As it was already 8+, we then asked them whether is the laundry outlet open at this hour. They replied and said that they don't know. We told the tour guide the next day and after finding out from the receptionist, we were told that laundry will be delivered within the same day after wash instead of 24 hrs. Breakfast - Plenty but cold food. If you don't mind. Only food serve hot are noodle soup, porridge. Wifi - Poor connection. In fact many other team mates have to go down to lobby to get an Internet connection. They were upgrade ng at the time. This is my second visit to Lijiang. Will I go back to the same hotel again?
