Honglou Hotel

Okay to start our toilet would not stop running- despite telling the staff- They didn't fix it. Our shower would not work the first night. The carpeting throughout the hotel was stained and dirty. Even in the lobby which had nice seating was tired and needed an overhaul to spruce it up. Also very, very slow elevators- and there was 136 of us which did not help the process. Right near the train station if that is what you are looking for. The bathrooms need to be renovated. Out of the four hotels we stayed in China, this one was the worse. Wifi was not the best in the room- very spotty

This hotel is very near to Hangzhou Main Railway Station, Just need to cross the road. And it has almost 25-30 floors, so anyone can get a good view of city and west lake if anyone prefer a scenic room. We reached late midnight, and took a little time to find this hotel, though the building itself is so high and easy to find, but there is no name in english. So we needed to match the chinese characters with the hotel voucher, and what i see in the building, and it was a tedious job to do in midnight. Check in / Check out not so smooth, as reception staffs could not speak much english, so we needed to use the translator installed in phone. The room was cozy, with better view. Sleep was perfect. Didnt had the chance to experience the breakfast In a nutshell, location was perfect, check-in/check-out was time consuming and room was spacious and cozy. Recommended for those who want to take early morning trains.

We stayed at the Hong Lou hotel in Hangzhou for a three days and two nights stay at HangZhou City. We initially booked a 3 star hotel but after arriving at that place, it was so bad. We had no choice but look for another hotel. We found Hong Lou hotel. As we walked in to Hong Lou Hotel, the staff were very friendly. The hall is huge, i mean, it is absolutely huge... We booked the hotel for RMB430 per night per room. We had 4 rooms in total. Our room were upgraded to a business executive room as they run out of standard rooms. The business executive room were very very very nice. It was on 17th/18th floor, no noises, very clean. over looking the famous West Lake in a distance. We don't normally travel and stay in 4 star or 5 star hotels a lot. For us, this place is really good. In the Hotel lobby, there is a counter provides mini coach/bus hire services for as little as RMB250 = £25 a day. It fitted 9 of us. The driver drove us around all day and also acted as our tour guide. It was absolutely great, relaxing. The driver dropped us off at so many famous site seeing places, we booked a time to meet up and he meets on time. He also provided water to us through out the day. It was really good service. We even hired him to send us to the aireport on the last day. It was also the same day rate price. The room service was also very good. We were lucky to have found a hotel like the Hong Lou Hotel. The only thing i would say as it is next to the train station, it is easy to access. It has food around the hotel everywhere. Most of them were street vendors. If you don't like them, in the train station, there are plenty of restaurant to choose from. I recommand this hotel to everyone travel to HangZhou.
