Huajia Shan Resort Hangzhou

We were awoken at 6 our first morning to the sounds of construction. When we complained to the front desk, instead of making the workers keep a reasonable schedule, they made us go through the hassle of changing rooms - and charging us more for it. That's the negative. The positive is they were responsive to our complaint, and proactive, even though their solution did not make sense to us. But since that first morning, all has been good. Great service; clean, comfortable rooms; spectacular setting, just walking distance from the shores of famous West Lake, yet well off the beaten path, and away from tourists and tour madness. At the end of the day, we would recommend the place. Just make sure there are no work crews outside your room...

This is such a peaceful place with space to yourself, a real retreat from the crowds of west lake and overful local buses. Ponds, birds, mist in the trees, elegant buildings, comfortable beds. Loved it!

The resort is nicely located. It's a 5 minute drive to the West Lake. It's also close to the Long Jing Village. The resort is quiet. The room is clean. The staff members at the front desk are friendly. One draw back, the resort has no non-smoking rooms.
