Very nice rooms very clean and tidy and made you feel nice. Staff were nice as well and always said hello. The breakfast options were very vast and great selection of all types of food. I was on the 12th floor and the view was okay as well and the room was certainly nice. Staff made me feel very welcome when i arrived.

My wife and I were booked by our tour company into a standard room in this ‘superior’ hotel. The room was tidy and clean, but old and lacked the facilities one would expect as a traveller to China. The air-conditioning was controlled at one setting centrally in the hotel for all rooms, which meant for us the room was too warm. A portable dehumidifier was provided which ceased to function after one night. There were few power sockets in the room (none next to the bed), and one socket was not fixed to the wall. Internet was intermittently available and there was a limit to the number of devices that could be used (3). The bathroom had soap and shampoo, but then also a basket with other items for which a charge applied. The towels were clean but well worn. Only one member of the front desk staff spoke any English and their shift pattern meant they weren’t always available. Breakfast was fine if you had an Asian appetite, but it was difficult to get a cup of (black) tea and there was a limited selection of what one might consider ‘western breakfast foods’. The location could have been better. It is a good 25 minute walk (albeit along just one road) to the West Lake, and whilst there are supermarkets close by it was very difficult to find a Chinese restaurant in the neighbourhood where the menu had English descriptions. Whilst not unpleasant our stay just lacked the refinement and comforts one would expect from an international hotel.

Nothing memorable about this hotel, too far from West Lake, too little parking and rooms basic. At a budget price and with modest expectations it is fine. Chinese restaurant on the second floor was surprisingly good.
