Zhejiang Media Hotel

This is a reasonably priced 4-Star hotel which doesn’t really cater to overseas guests. The beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. But English is not a strong point at this hotel. There are some rather strange listings on the mini-bar, as you can see in the last photo. In terms of location, the hotel is a 10-20 minute walk to West Lake. It’s also located near the subway stations. I wound up staying here after booking a much lower priced “theme” hotel on “Trip.com.” (Used to be C-Trip). When I arrived at the other hotel, I was told “foreigners not allowed.” This seems to be a problem at many hotels in China- book a cheap rate and be told: 1) you can’t stay there or 2) be forced to pay a higher rate for a “better” room. For a 1-night stay, this hotel was good in a pinch. If I had stayed longer in Hangzhou, I would have wanted to stay closer to the tourist areas.

My son and I spent 3 days here attending a scientific meeting. The rooms are comfortable and the second floor buffet was really excellent. Close to West Lake and shopping area. Staff are very helpful although surprisingly few speak English. Highly Recommended 4 Star Hotel

The location very close to the west lake, shopping street and restaurant. Staffs are friendly and helpful. I booked a non smoking room,but at my floor I found some guests were smoking in front of the elevators which causes my floor (I think all of this floor) having bad smell of cigarettes. Anyway there is no such smell in my room. The exit of the closest metro ,there is no elevator or escalator,if you have a big luggage,you have to carry up by yourself.
