Zhejiang Railway Hotel

great location which is just next to railway station, perfect for a transfer stay. hotel room comes with old furniture. Only thought thing is colored towels and cups are provided to avoid confusion which many hotels do not cater for.

Overall opinion: this hotel is ok, just don't expect too much. Location is good, staff could be more friendly and rooms are really standard and in need of renovation. We stayed here for 3 nights during Golden Week in October. The hotel has a great location, right next to the Railway Station and the subway station which is very convenient to go around town. The noise of the trains was not disturbing in the rooms which is also a plus. The room we got was a 'Business Queen Room'. The bed was indeed a queensize bed but that's about the only 'royal' thing about the room. The room smelled of smoke and you could see that it is in need of renovation. The entire hotel is a bit old I guess. Bathroom with shower was ok and the bed slept just fine. We could hear everything from our neighbours in our room: TV, coughing, toilet, ... not very plaisant. And one morning the housekeeping ladies had a lovely chat in front of our door at 6.30am!! So for isolation that would be a NO. We read that the hotel had several facilities such as a bowling alley and KTV. We searched the entire hotel but didn't find any of these. This hotel is a good place to stay if your standards and expectations are low. Price/quality and location is good so I would recommend to stay here if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel near the West Lake. If you are looking for a more comfortable stay, don't go here.

This hotel was clean and comfortable and given its location right at the railway station perfect for travelers like me that use the railway frequently. I can imagine when it was new this hotel was very beautiful and welcoming but the 2 rooms we had booked were tired and in need of maintenance. Housekeeping did a fine job and the front desk staff were courteous and helpful. All in all, if I come through Hangzhou on the rail again I will stay here.
