Hotel Dayu Kaiyuan

This is old style village hotel with private rooms. Check-in was smooth. They drive you to your room with a buggy. Our room was told being 100m2, but real size is less. Maybe 70m2. Hotel has older and newer parts, which are separated by the small river. Ensure you get river / canal view, as some rooms do not have it. Bed was not large, but ok. Room in general was decent. Layout was not ideal. It is impossible to watch TV unless you are in bed. Chinese dinner package cost us CNY 268. This was less exciting. Tea was pretty decent. Breakfast: This was really typical Chinese breakfast. Not bad, but not to my liking. Fried noodles, fried eggs, soy eggs and fruits were ok. Coffee was fully drinkable. This hotel is great match for short stay, if you are in this area. Several guests were angling (possible at Yuling river and canals). We spotted some carp species. Boat ride costs CNY 90. You need a car ride to get to shops and restaurants. We found simple restaurants with tasty food 2.5 km drive out from the hotel. We paid CNY 500 per night. Price value is more than decent. We were happy and I would recommend this hotel.

Ever wanted to live in a village of ancient China, however, don’t intend to miss any of the modern achievements? Living in small houses - newly built with air-con and floor heating. Everything in walking distance, yet still the indulgence of club buggies, if more convenient. Very positive surprising is the breakfast buffet - since deep in China, focused on the Oriental taste, however, also a Westener can find a nice selection. Try as well the other Restaurants on the estate. Excellent food. Chinese Language required for ordering.

You were clearly in an ancient Chinese village with all modern amenities. Air conditioning, WiFi, comfortable rooms. Very unique property. Wake up to the sound of birds chirping instead of the sounds of a big city.
