Howard Johnson Tongfang Plaza Zhuji

First, it really deserves 3.5 stars but half grades aren't possible to check off. Six of us went there for a Chinese 3 day holiday. There's nice scenery and mountains all over. It's a large property with hundreds of rooms that are decent. Bathroom, carpet, bedding and sheets are clean. WiFi is said to exist but our friends nor I could get a signal. They did send up a tech, then another. Eventually, a better router was installed and it worked. (for our room). Breakfast was also quite fine. Not like a 5 star buffet, but still with a large variety of healthy and not so healthy fare. They had depleted the mangos and when I asked a manager, he was kind enough to look up our room and have a bunch delivered to our room that evening! One for each of us! That gets 5 stars for effort and delivery! The grounds out back needs maintenance badly as there are hundreds of small tiles missing from the pools out back. Also, the animals are a nice touch, but they seem neglected and just confined to a small space. The back of the hotel needs a paint job badly. There's an indoor pool with lockers but no sauna, steam room or jacuzzi. The courtesy and overall friendliness of every employee we interacted with was good to excellent, In summary, being far from most big cities, its certainly adequate as a 3.5 star property.

I chose this hotel because it is claimed no.1 in Zhuji (according to this web), however, when I went there, very much disappointed. Hotel is still under construction. Main elevator was closed and we have to use service elevator to reach our hotel. Room is ok, but location is very bad, in the middle of nowhere.

I was here for business meetings. Reservations were made for me by a third party. When I arrived check-in was fast. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and serviced. The bed was excellent and the room was very clean and well maintained. WiFi and internet worked fine and were free. I had a balcony, which was nice to step out and enjoy the scenery. The location was quiet…even serine. There’s virtually no traffic around the immediate area. I would recommend this hotel to any traveling to Zhuji.
