Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our trip around Colombia in March 2026. This old renovated colonial house has an interesting indoor and outdoor look, although it lacks some more modern functionality we are used to these days. For a start, we were given a room in the attic. This meant a high 4th floor without a lift. The room itself was old but nice and clean, but beware the mosquitoes: given the typical old architecture, if you have mosquitoes staying for the night, it is nearly impossible finding and catching them. The hotel has a very small pool inside a patio, right next to the breakfast tables. Breakfast “a la carte” was nice and plentiful. One important remark: the hotel is situated inside the fortress walls of the colonial city. This means that it is perfect for everybody that comes here to visit the (very nice) medieval colonial architecture of the old city, especially because most of the buildings are decorated with plants and nice vivid colors. However, this also means that you are inside the most active part of the most touristic city in Colombia. So, we were unlucky enough to have to withstand a loud music show up to 2 a.m. the last night we stayed there, very close to the hotel. And believe me: it was not funny: we were unable to sleep the night before our 24h return home...

Basic hotel that although central, inside is very dark. It has a swimming pool but I didn't see anyone use it as it is in the middle of the dining room (a bit uncomfortable) The room looks unkempt and antique. Smelling damp. The bathroom key was loose and the safe was not working. Regarding the attention, the reception girl could be seen to be a little bored... when we told her that we had left our bags for check in, she said “look for them at that door”. He didn't even get up from the front desk and didn't confirm that they were indeed our bags. Regarding breakfast service, I highlight Silvana. She very attentive and worried about delivering what we wanted. Very friendly and helpful. In short, the hotel needs maintenance and greater care, its potential is location and breakfast service.

The only positive point is the location, which is quite central. I selected a room on the ground floor due to the fact that my wife has a motor disability, which prevents her from climbing stairs. By the photos presented by the hotel, at first, the room offered corresponded to the expectations. However, upon arriving at the hotel for check-in, I was informed that the selected room was busy, but there was another in the same condition. However, this other room, although it was also on the ground floor, had the bed in a kind of mezzanino, a fact that forced my wife to climb stairs to access them. In addition, the room was not in good condition: with peeled walls, with the smell of mold and there was in the mezzanino a wooden support tor that made me have to lower my head to avoid any kind of injuries when hitting my head. To turn on the shower, it was necessary to put the hand in a spot where the electrical wiring passed, and there could be a risk of electric shock. The bedding was torn apart. The bathroom box did not prevent the bathroom from being all wet. Breakfast tb was a surprise: it was all told. Despite all the problems, there was a very good will from the assistant Light to solve some situations. We thank her! We just did not change hotel because we had already changed in Bogotá, due to the earthquake of the day 08/06/2025, and we had already spent beyond the budget. The feeling was of being deceived, unfortunately.
