Dann Carlton Bucaramanga

I stayed one night at the Dann Carlton Bucaramanga Hotel, 47th Street #28-83. I arrived by taxi from the transport terminal for 18000 COP. The hotel is on 47th Street #28-83. According to the website it is in a commercial and exclusive area of the city. This is a 5* hotel, although the price is not disproportionate, since the room rate I had booked was about €78, through Destinia. The room was a double standard and included breakfast. It was quite large, exterior, with desk table, round table with chairs, two armchairs, hanger standing to hang clothes, another table under the flat screen TV, kettle to prepare tea and coffee, air conditioning, safe, etc... The bathroom was large, perhaps a little dated (not old), with shower, gel, tissues, shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer, soap bars, etc... On the top floor of the hotel, on the terrace, there is a restaurant, swimming pool, gym and spa. There is another restaurant on the ground floor, where you also have breakfast, where I had dinner. Pool hours are from 7:00 to 20:00, so I could not bathe when arriving later than closing time. As for breakfast, it is from 6:00 and is buffet type, although I did not find it especially varied from my point of view, considering the category of the hotel.

Poor housekeeping, and maintenance, in a good looking hotel, I’m a good location, with good staff at front desk and restaurant. At 3pm we reported a plugged sink. After speedy attention we assumed the problem was resolved but dressing for a dinner engagement much later found the sink still plugged. After considerable effort we either had to repack and move or permit a crew with drill and hoses. A 1/2 bottle wine (without corkscrew!) was the only compensation. Totally disappointed after 3 years visiting Colombia and decades around world.

Arrived yesterday, good superior room. Nice large rooftop pool. Nice lobby. But what a terrible breakfast. We have been traveling through Colombia for a few weeks so we are used to it but this is the worst breakfast buffet. It was also poorly cared for, the buffet was also not kept clean and also poorly restocked. Dann Carlton you should be ashamed of yourself. Nowhere could I have an egg or ommelet made or it was not at all clear that it could be done.
