Fantastic rainforest setting with a super itinerary for seeing the wildlife. We loved our rainforest home altho it is noisy at night with the sounds of nature as the windows are made of mesh! Our experienced guide Valentine was superb at facilitating the group from pickup at the coach meeting point through to drop off 48hrs later, with a vast knowledge of the area and wildlife we enjoyed the rainforest walk, river/canal tour, village visit. We saw so many amazing birds and animals and found time to enjoy the lovely pool. Food was simple buffet style and the choice was perfectly adequate for most for 48hrs, with a pasta station one lunchtime and omlettes made to order. We were lucky as friends visited the week before and explained how much rain they were experiencing - we invested in ponchos and cedar wood drying bags, packed our wet shoes and wet bags and used the lot! Paths were flooded in a few areas so most people wore their closed toe wet shoes for much of the 48hrs even to get to the restaurant or the dock. Best advice in rainy season, come prepared for damp. Anything that got wet did not dry in the humid damp forest conditions. Also paid extra to venture to the beach at night and see turtles 1m in diameter laying eggs.

Great rainforest experience. We saw lots of animals sloths butterflies monkeys frogs birds. Lovely knowledgable staff who were very helpful. Food was quite canteen style Costa Rican rice and beans plus meat. Lots of it though. Our Room was fairly basic. They could do with some hangers or a washing line for wet kit! There are also no hairdryers. The bathroom was quite rustic shall we say! We went at the start of the rainy season and Would definitely recommend bringing more than one coat or buying a decent poncho because when it rains its a proper down pour! Also a wet bag for anything you want to take on excursion. We went on the turtle night tour to watch them lay eggs on the beach which was an additional charge but magical.

Great accommodation right in the national park and by the water I had a small cottage to myself and you could sit in the rocking chair in front of the house and watch the animals
