Cristal Ballena

I had a spacious room with a wonderful view from the large balcony. The AC in the room was fabulous - and I like to sleep in a cool room. The pool was a bit warm for me but a nice area to relax in with service available from the bar. The service overall was very good - both in the restaurant and at reception. My first dinner was very salty and so I asked for low salt for the next two nights and the food was delicious. There are places to explore on the grounds with very nicely done walking trails. Overall this is a very welcoming and beautiful place to stay.

We swam at the pool which was exceptionally large and ate dinner at their restaurant. The dinner of a tropical salad and fish with shrimps were very tasty; the service was excellent and although a little out of the way, the restaurant was worth the trip.

We stayed overnight as we had an early snorkelling trip. A big room, a bit "70's" but clean with a balcony and a view over the pool and out to the forest and the sea. Evening meal was very good but we had to go before breakfast and our "box to go" consisted of two thin sandwiches (one of them the thinnest spread of jam possible) and a biscuit. Staff excellent, parked right by reception. Lots of huge grasshoppers for company. Would not be surprised if White Lotus series 4 was based here...
