First of all, we can officially take away a star; three stars are more than enough. Lobby, reception, dining room, and rooms are beyond reproach; food is abundant but of very low quality, most likely aimed more at European populations bordering Croatia rather than Italians; in a week's stay, I was never able to eat pasta, rice, or fish. The parking fee is also very questionable.

The hotel was probably recently renovated, everything looked neat. The room was reasonably large, which was at the expense of the bathroom. You couldn't stand in this together, or someone had to sit in the bathroom. The toilet roll holder was a movable, sort of quail my grandfather used to have. In the shower, you didn't have to fall, because you'd get stuck double. The rooms (all) were so-called family rooms. Two rooms together with a door in between. Next to us were two ladies, who you could literally hear what they were discussing. The rooms are so noisy. Actually, there should be two doors in between. On the other hand, it was no different, also very noisy. The food was good, just not too hot, but to eat. The restaurant (dining room) was very noisy, as it was buffet style. All in all we had a nice week, but not worthy of 4 stars.

This was a really nice place to stay. The staff were really professional, and helpful - when my airport drop off got me there before the 3pm check in time, and the room wasn't ready they got it sorted so I could check in for 2pm, and leave my suitcase in a room by reception until then. The room was very clean and had a good courtyard view where I could also see some of the hillside behind. I did use my earplugs a couple of nights, but this was more because I was in bed quite early for early starts next day. Being outside of school holidays it was mostly older guests while I stayed, and also a few pets, which was nice to see! It looked like they were geared up and ready for kids at other times of year, with special areas/kids club set aside. For breakfast and evening meal, I thought there was a great selection for both, with some interesting variety with some of the dishes. The hotel bar also seemed reasonably priced, too. I didn't use the inside pool at all, but the outside pool was pleasant, and it is a very short walk out of the hotel onto the pebble beach. There's also a supermarket very close by, and the hotel reception staff provided me with a copy of the bus timetable for the stop just up the road (it's fairly quick and easy to use the local bus service to go to larger resorts or the city of Rijeka up the coast.) It's very well placed for Moscenicka Draga itself, too, being very much in the middle of the village's sea front, from the hotel I was able to walk up into the mountains behind the hotel quite easily to see the high village of Mala Ucka, and the closer village of Mošćenice helped by the clearly signposted and marked trails, and a copy walking map from the nearby tourist information office. I would be very happy to stay again.
