Bellevue

This is a place (the terrace, that is) where you won't get anything fancy. The hotel behind it is old and decrepit, yet has some old-school European charm in its decrepitude. Great staff, very friendly, gin and tonic for under 4€, you get to people-watch like nowhere else. Fancy cocktail lovers, many places await you - not this one, though. If you hate taxi drivers who bad-mouth tourists, steer clear of the table nearest to their vehicles. This is a simple place for simple people. Go. Have a gin and tonic. Enjoy the view.

The hotel is as advertised: great location, and very quiet despite being right downtown (great windows!).  The rooms were clean, the breakfast service was very good - especially considering with covid since it had to be served instead of buffet.  Our only point of attention is the pool.  There is a small pool in the sauna area for guests to plunge into, but it cannot be considered a pool for children.  Actually, we were using the sauna area and two children came in, unsupervised, and started jumping and splashing in the pool - splashing water all over the small room and completely ruining our calm.  We went to the front desk and complained, but the kids were not evicted.    

The Bellevue is a very nice hotel close to all the major sites. Our room was very nice, the staff was very nice, and the breakfast was great. We walked to so many wonderful sites, including Diocletian's Palace, and heard great free music concerts on the Promenade. The hotel was also close to many exciting restaurants.
