Dalmatian Apartments

The apartment is in a great location just a short walk away from the centre making everything easily accessible. The apartment is has a fridge/freezer, microwave, hob so it is very practical. It doesn’t look quite look the photos I saw of it online but still a good and inexpensive place to stay whilst in Split.

Paid in advance for deceitful offer, showing an apartment with TWO rooms but in reality we got an apartment with one room and a kitchen with an extensible sofa, acting as "the second room". The offer was being presented with clear pictures of two different rooms but the description conveniently left out the number of rooms. We demanded to get what we paid for, based on the offer but they refused and insisted that the offer is correct, even though we showed them and they saw what the offer contained. I went to the "police" to file a complaint for theft, they came to the location, talked with the guy from the agency and said there is nothing they can do, we need to file a lawsuit for the agency. I asked the policeman to have my complaint officially recorded but he refused, showing me a folded piece of paper where he simply wrote with a pen my ID serial number, saying that "they have my complaint". The guy from the agency admitted that we got duped and there is basically nothing we can do about it, we have photos of his computer screen looking at the FALSE offer and we also recording him admitting we got scammed. After driving around Split at 9 in the evening trying to get another accommodation, the people from our group gave up and returned to stay there. I REFUSED to stay there and wanted to sleep in the car but my wife asked me to come up and spend only that night. In the morning we left searching on foot for another place to stay and we found something 100 times better - cleaner, nicer, better equipped. We were very lucky to find that place. So, again, we got SCAMMED by this agency and LOST THE MONEY. The apartment looks dirty, un-maintained, equipment is extremely basic but is priced higher than what we paid in the other location which, as I said before, looked much, much better from all points of view.

Before getting onto the room I just want to say that the staff here are very nice and helpful. I just wish the room we got was of equal standard. From the pics some of the rooms look pretty nice, however, ours was just not. We were on the ground level so we felt like we couldn't open the windows that often and when we did they were covered with bushes so not much natural light got in at all. The shower room was really grotty, (I've seen some pretty bad shower rooms in my time but this was particularly bad) mould and mildew everywhere and a broken shower door - great. A previous tenant had clearly had a temper tantrum and punched holes through a few of the doors. No wifi - despite it saying the room comes with free wifi. we got told it doesn't work when the weather is thundery, however, it didn't work when the sun was shining either. Not a single mirror was in this place, not to be vain but it would be nice to see yourself before going out for dinner. It was literally packed full of furniture we barely had room for our cases. It seems like a dumping ground for their old furniture which they hadn't gotten round to throwing out yet. I've stayed in some pretty poor places in my time but this is definitely one of the worst. The only redeeming factor about this place was that it's a stone throw away from the centre of town. Like i've said, I'm sure some of the rooms were pretty nice but ours was just not. On reflection I wondered if we got put in this room because we didn't arrive until late at night.
