Our expectations of the hotel, resort and island were exceeded. The island of Braç and the resort of Postira are ideal for a slower holiday.
Postira is a small coastal town with about 1,500 inhabitants. It extends hillward on the densely forested coast. The crystal clear sea often shimmers turquoise as in the Caribbean.
Shops for shopping are not to be found, not even the invitations to some coastal trips advertised elsewhere.
Nightlife is virtually non-existent, if only on the ships anchored there.
Hotel Lipa is located directly on the harbour, on a little-travelled road (closed to through traffic) behind a narrow beach. You can swim there, but it is not ideal because of the fishing boats and yachts.
There are (besides the beach right in front of the hotel) several small beaches suitable for swimming in and close to the village. You can walk to a nice slightly larger bay (Trstena) for three quarters of an hour. These beaches are pebble beaches, bathing shoes are essential.
Once again a little further you will find a also larger bay (Lovrecina) with a sandy beach, but few loungers.
There are beautiful places in the area that can be reached reliably and cheaply by bus, we did not miss a car.
By bus, you can travel in less than an hour to Bol on the other side of the island, where there is a much-vaunted long lagoon beach. Very nice, quite touristy, nevertheless we found it a nice trip.
The hotel is a typical island cube building with isosceles roof sides. It has very successful proportions and is sympathetically modern on the outside and inside. It fits well into the silhouette of the place, although it is larger than the surrounding houses (unlike other hotels!).
Almost all rooms have sea views with balcony or loggia. We had a great tastefully decorated suite, in no way fuzzy. The bed is excellent, the bathroom has a shower and bathtub.
All staff are very friendly and helpful. There also seems to be a good working climate.
The breakfast was criticized by some as a bit sparse, we did not find that. It was everything we needed and liked. At any time we could have additional omelettes or scrambled eggs. For me as a passionate coffee drinker it was nice that I liked the coffee.
The half-board menu includes a handful of starters and desserts and about a dozen main courses, it is not changed on a regular basis. After a week we had our favorite food through, but then we also gladly ordered one or the other again. We found the food very good to excellent, always served quickly and charmingly. The waiters were very attentive and also satisfied small extra wishes gladly.
We spent a very nice hotel holiday and loved the hotel, the place and the island. We will come back again.

Quiet and quiet hotel. Good room, but unfortunately not covered balcony. Bathroom clean
Nice food in the restaurant. Fast and good service. Also in the reception.
But parking I had to look for as the gps did not show the hotel

We have been to Lipa three times in total, the last time 10 years ago, and we had correspondingly high expectations this June. Our high expectations were far exceeded during our three-week stay this year!!!
The joy begins with the breakfast buffet. Exquisite and organic. Special requests are perfectly u promptly fulfilled. The outdoor tables would live up to any 5☆ Resort.
I do not want to hide the fact that the owner family has a huge organic farm, all vegetables and salad also the eggs and the "award-winning" olive oil come from their own production. Hippocrates: Your food is supposed to be your medicine. Nowhere in Europe has this phrase proved more true for us than in Lipa!
And now the chef Ante from Split! A demigod, a guru, an artist and ... a friendly, humble person! We immediately warmed up with him. Culinary changes have taken place in Dalmatia in recent decades but Ante is definitely an outstanding apparition!
Lipa apparently has good contacts with the local fishermen, because even with fresh fish there are no wishes left unfulfilled!
Then there is a great pizza cook who conjures absolutely perfect pizzas in a brick wood oven.
Very pleasant for us was that people with physical disabilities were very sensitive and helpful!!! This has made our holiday a complete success. The hotel is a beautiful old building, idyllic on the beach/fishing harbour and very tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and have an alkhoven balcony on the upper floor which is perfect for me as a cigar smoker because cigars do not tolerate drafts.
We also spent a lot of time at the beautiful outdoor pool, looked after by the gracious staff.
Conclusion: We are already looking forward to our next stay in autumn!
