Hotel Vila Sikaa

Trogir is a really nice hop off point for the airport. The hotel faces the old town with splendid views from the front. I liked having the windows open and listening to the bustle below and the intermittent peels of bells from the old town which is just a short walk away. Very clean, splendid breakfast and they organized a taxi for me.

The entrance to the Vila Sikaa is a little unprepossessing, but things improve significantly as you get to your room (which is the right way around!). Our room was modern and spacious and featured superb views of historic Trogir island. I think it’s better to stay at Vila Sikaa and have a great view of the island, rather than to stay on the island and have a lousy view of Vila Sikaa. There is no lift at the hotel and there are a fair number of steps between the lobby and the rooms. However, the staff member at check-in seemed to regard it as a point of pride to swiftly convey my bag to our room. We arrived in Trogir by car and parked on the approach to the hotel, in one of the many waterfront spaces. It’s certainly advisable to park well in advance of arrival at the hotel, to avoid the semi-permanent traffic snarl up around the bridge to the island.

This the best place to stay in Trogir. The location and service are outstanding. A small hotel with just B and B. The view from the bedroom window across the sea is fantastic both day and night. It’s a very short walk over the bridge to the old town with its shops and restaurants. Taxis can’t stop in the old town so if you book there you have to walk with your luggage through a maze of narrow streets. With this hotel a taxi can drop you off at the door. There is no lift but the staff will take your luggage to your room. There is a bar for drinks but the only meals are breakfast. The rooms are air conditioned and double glazed for comfort The breakfast is typical continental with a choice of eggs The location is great and so are the staff. All so very friendly and helpful.
