The Hotel location was ideal for us, and it came with the benefit of secure car parking at the back of the Hotel … we were however told in advance the car park can be full, so we arrived mid afternoon and got a space! We stayed 3 nights and found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly … breakfast too was varied and fully met our needs. If any comments needs to be made about the breakfasts, it was the poor quality of several of the coffees on offer from a machine, notably the cappuccino, and at busy times, the location of the coffee machines did result in guests queuing and obstructing others helping themselves to breakfast. Rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, but on 2 of our nights our room was far too warm. So turn on the air-conditioning was an obvious move but it didn’t work, as Reception advised it was the wrong season and was not yet working so a portable fan was sent up to us … whilst moving the air around the room it had little impact so the window had to be left open until late when there was some minor traffic noise. But it was the bed duvet that deserves a mention .. it barely covered the bed and in our opinion was the wrong size. We should have complained immediately but we managed to cope! So on this occasion we give it a 4 out of 5, marked down by the lack of air-conditioning and ridiculous size of the duvet!

This hotel is a gem. The woodwork throughout the hotel is very elegant with beautiful artwork from Croatian artists (both originals and prints) everywhere. It’s like staying at an art gallery. Clean comfortable rooms. Great breakfast included. Friendly helpful staff. A short walk to the major squares of Zagreb. A movie theater and shopping mall about 4 blocks away. Great place to stay when visiting Zagreb.

My stay at the Best Western Premier Astoria, in Zagreb, was one of those experiences that will win the heart as the days go by. From the very beginning, what caught my attention was the location. The hotel is located in a quiet street but at the same time a few minutes walk from the main points of the city. It was very easy to explore everything on foot, which made the trip even more enjoyable. The hotel has a more classic, almost “traditional European” style, and that ended up being a charm apart. It is not a modern or minimalist hotel, but it has personality and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable from the first moment. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet — I slept very well every day. You can notice consistent care with cleaning and maintenance, which makes a difference in the experience. But, no doubt, one of the highlights was the breakfast. Very varied, with several fresh and well-prepared options — those you really enjoy calmly before going out for the day. Another special highlight goes to the care. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, always willing to help with recommendations and guidance, which made the stay even more pleasant and personal. The hotel also has a very quiet atmosphere, even being in the center — something I really appreciate. It is that kind of place that works perfectly both for rest and as a base to explore the city. Overall, it is a hotel that delivers much more than it seems at first glance. It may not be the most modern, but it compensates with excellent location, comfort, impeccable service and a truly welcoming atmosphere. I left with a great impression and would definitely host me again.
