Mercure Ostrava Center

Very good option for staying overnight in Ostrava, just a few minutes from the center. From the outside, it looks like an old hotel, but the rooms are renovated. The staff is very friendly and professional. The breakfast is a generous buffet in a quite spacious room, and the food stations are far from the tables, which is appreciated. They have parking, although there is little space to maneuver. In any case, parking is good in the surroundings. It is easy to find free parking if you move within a 5-minute radius. Highly recommended.

Mercure OstravaCenter Hotel – a very nice hotel. As a Diamond member, I was able to use an early check-in at 9am. Staff at reception were very friendly. Our suite was large, clean and well equipped (separate WC, bathroom with bathtub). The noise from outside was well insulated thanks to the double windows. We didn’t need to clean the room and received additional loyalty points as a reward. Directly after check-in we used breakfast, which offered a really rich selection of Czech cuisine. We especially liked the local rolls, liver pate, sülzen and homemade cakes. You could also have breakfast on the terrace. To save money you had to get the cutlery yourself – nothing was ready on the tables. The fitness room was adequate.The sauna was commissioned only on request at the reception for energy saving reasons. A real highlight was the VIP lounge in the 3rd floor. Floor to which we as Diamond members had free access. In addition to PCs, table football and TV, there were non-alcoholic drinks and beer around the clock, alcoholic drinks and small snacks in the afternoon. Access could also be booked for 890 CZKper rooms. The hotel also rented bicycles for adults. Parking was only €10 per night, but you can park in the area for free on Fridays from 6pm and on weekends. The location is excellent – right next to a park with playground and fountain. Less than 10 minutes walk to the city centre and the pedestrian area. Even after checking out we were allowed to leave our luggage in the hotel and picked it up again in the evening.

A nothing special hotel. Very large hotel with our room right at the back through 2 doors to reach the room. The wifi was excellent. The area was quiet of a night. It was close to most things in the city with plenty of restaurants within a 10 minute walk.
