We were upset with the lack of amenities in a 4 Star hotel: no fridge, no coffee maker, no water, no tissues, slow internet and only overstuffed pillows. The receptionist at check-in was neither knowledgeable nor helpful but the lady who worked the rest of the time was very nice. The rest of the staff did not show much interest in the guests.
The breakfast was ok but the eggs must have been fried all at the same time because they were cold every morning
On the positive side: good size superior double room and bath, quiet, clean, comfortable mattress, bus stop to the city across the street (with free fare for seniors) and a little pub across the street.
We would have enjoyed the good food in the restaurant but the service was a disaster. The red wine was served in a wine cooler on ice, the cork thrown away and one meal of 4 was forgotten and only served after 2 reminders and after 3 of us had finished when it finally arrived. After some discussion we didn't have to pay for it.
