Our third stay at the Sibelius. This time with an upgrade to apartment 51. The advantages are: slightly larger, a bigger wardrobe, a spacious bathroom with ample storage, and very, very quiet. We didn't hear a thing from our neighbors. The furnishings are the same as in the other apartments. Everything you need is there. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, and so on. The beds are comfortable, everything is very clean, and the apartment is cleaned daily. As always, we were very satisfied and are already looking forward to our next stay at the Sibelius in June.

We spent three nights in the aparthotel. Upon entering our apartment we were unfortunately greeted by a very unpleasant smell of old cuisine. The two-bedroom apartment was a wonderful size with beautiful, high ceilings. The equipment was basically very good, but already somewhat outdated and no longer quite meets today's standard. The main entrance door of the apartment unfortunately has no sound insulation, which was sometimes very disturbing. You get to know everything that happens in the hallway – from the cleaners to guests talking or making noise. There is definitely room for improvement here. The former Prague apartments that make up the hotel, we liked architecturally very much. However, you could get much more out of the building. The old parquet floors are beautiful, but need urgent renovation as the joints are very dirty. The overall impression would clearly win if prepared. Overall, the apartment would be really nice if it did not smell of old kitchen. The ventilation could not help here either. With better soundproofing of the doors, a modern kitchen and a thorough renovation, the stay would be almost perfect. The staff was very accommodating.

It was easily the worst experience I've ever had in any accomodation, which I didn't expect because of the mostly positive reviews. When I arrived lift was broken, took 4 days to repair. They won't offer to bring your suitcare upstair, so good luck if you're older or don't walk really well. First apartment wasn't cleaned properly, had hairs laying on the bathroom floor and the kitchen still had food leftovers and used parchment paper in the oven (added pictures). Guy at the reception didn’t care much but eventually called someone. According to him everyone was gone, so nothing could be done. He booked me in a different apartment, which seemed a downgrade. Half the stove, no oven, no coffee machine, no sofa like the first apartment. There were holes in the bed linen. (added picture) There’s also silver fish living in the cracks in the bathroom floor. (added picture) Second night I found out the stove didn't work. One burner didn't turn on at all, the other would get warm but by far not hot enough to cook. (added picture) Small pieces of vegetable still were raw after an HOUR of cooking. Guy at the reception, again, told me that everyone was gone, nothing could be done. He was kind enough to take a look, but he didn’t know anything, didn’t know where to look and couldn’t help. He called someone and said that people would come look at it the next day. Next day the stove isn't fixed. Apparently I was supposed to stay in the hotel waiting for the service people or leave a key, which no one felt like was necessary to mention to me. Obviously when I'm on holiday I don't feel like staying to wait in a hotel for half a day! The key story was weird to me, they said they couldn't access because they didn't have the key. I left the hotel at 10.30 am so not late at all. Also, if they don't have a key, how do they enter the room for cleaning? Cleaning crew would be there at least till afternoon (according to guy at reception) so they had many hours to access the room. Because the stove still isn't working I was offered to use a microwave. I was ok with it for one night, but nothing in the apartment mentioned it being microwave safe, so it was impossible to use anyway. Next day, it turns out reception guy didn't lie: they took a look at it. Literally that's all they did. They looked at it, saw they couldn't fix it, and would come back the next week to fix it. NEXT WEEK. The hotels advertises being a smoke free hotel, which is a lie. The living room in the first apartment smelled like cigarettes. I blamed myself for not checking this when booking, but later I found out they are supposed to be smoke free. Second day the first floor of the hotel smelled like cigarettes. The hotel advertises having soundproof rooms, which is a lie. On the fourth floor I hear people buzzing the front door of the hotel. I heard people outside talking, dogs barking, people leaving for work early in the morning. I heart other people in the hotel coughing, watching tv, taking a shower. Unfortunately I am not able to upload an audio file, otherwise you could hear for yourself. There are no windows in the apartment that can be opened. There is not an air conditioning system. I haven’t seen any possibility of fresh air getting in the apartment. The apartment smells like it’s missing fresh air as well. Because of the issues with the kitchen I asked for a partial refund. I spent money on food that I had to throw away and spend more money on food in restaurants because I couldn’t cook, while I had paid for an apartment with working kitchen. Lady at the reception would contact the manager and ask. Next day, at check out, different lady and says she has no idea what I’m talking about and she can’t help me because… “everyone is gone, nothing can be done”. It seems like it’s their tag line for their business. Apparently staff doesn’t think it’s necessary to inform each other about things in the hotel. The hotel has my contact information, so I expected the manager to contact me. It’s 1,5 weeks later now, still no phone call or email. I guess this is just an easy scam for them, since I paid in advance anyway.
