Dvorak

We had a room upgrade and the size surprised. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were very spacious. The view was wonderful, both for the castle and for the river. The breakfast was amazing, with lots of delicious options. The only thing that could improve are the curtains, put something more modern and 100% blackout. For those who have no problem with external lighting, it will not be a hassle.

If you are reading this review, then you are considering a visit to Cesky Krumlov- GO! - we loved it. Yes, I'm sure it can get crowded in high season, in June it was fine. Tremendous character and natural position. The hotel was lovely- we chose it for the room with a terrace - and this did not disappoint. A lovely room, and a terrace with a sublime view in all directions.

It is well known that the town of Cesky Kromlov in the Czech Republic is incredibly picturesque, and from the windows and the balcony in our room at the Hotel Dvorak we could enjoy views of that lovely town from several angles. Granted, we paid more than we typically do for lodgings just for the privilege of enjoying those views but in our estimation it was well worth it. We never tired of watching the people crossing the bridge below us, of the castle tower and the church steeple with the changing sky as a backdrop, or of the river and the flocks of ducks and occasional heron that called it home. The hotel itself shows its age, but in a good way - never feeling shabby but just well used by decades of travelers appreciating its prime location. The staff was friendly and we especially enjoyed the bartender in the small lobby restaurant who served us both lunches and dinners along with a few beers and good conversation during our stay. We would definitely recommend the Hotel Dvorak as a fine place to stay when visiting Cesky Kromlov.
