Karibo Punta Cana

We rented a unit in this property for 10 days. The Karibo complex in a quiet residential area some 15 minutes by car from the centre of Bavaro. The setting and facilities were absolutely perfect for us. Quiet with a mini mart and a couple of good restaurants close by and a beautiful pool area. There is a small restaurant on site which serves breakfast and also a reception area. And there is an hourly free shuttle bus to the beach.T The owner and staff were all wonderful to us. We enjoyed having breakfast by the pool regularly and sitting by the pool on the plentiful comfortable longers. The grounds and pool are well maintained. And the reception staff were most helpful with their advice to us including ordering pizzas and Uber taxis, as well as exchanging our US$.

Had to stay here unfortunately due to a timeshare promo. Staff was never working, lady manager always had a justification for our complaints. Hot water is non existent there, water actually shut off at 10pm and didn't turn back on until after 9am on day. Bar girl inside the lobby very rude, we asked for her to call the manager who had vanished for over 40 minutes and she said she didn't have a number to call her at. Free breakfast? Never. You have to go ask the same unhelpful bar lady for food and she would go and hide in the kitchen so no one would bother her. Then, the TV sucks, bad service, one day it wasn't even working, had to call the non existent staff again! Had to ask for towels because they wouldn't replace the ones in the room during room cleaning. Bathroom shower was super dirty with dirt streaks down the tub, GROSS. You get what you pay for. If you stay there, make sure you are barely in the room. WIFI didn't reach the room, so NO WIFI. Safe in room was broken, so not safe to leave anything in the room, they even disclaimed that!

We had a lovely time at Karibo. We upgraded to a superior room with a big Balcony which was fabulous. The pool area was clean and spacious, free shuttle to the,beach and while downtown is 10 minute walk it was out of season so quiet but recommended for the corner bar alone! Enjoyed breakfast and dinner and hosts were lovely. Tip- get shuttle to the mall as there is a big supermarket there also!!
