Baltic Hotel Vana Wiru

We had a pleasant stay at Rixwell Viru Square Hotel overall. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town and within walking distance of all the main attractions. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The beds were very comfortable, and our room with a private sauna was definitely a highlight of our stay. The breakfast was good, although we would have appreciated a bit more variety from day to day. There were, however, a few downsides. The wall-to-wall carpets throughout the hotel looked quite old and worn and could really use replacing. Our room faced the back courtyard, where the view consisted mainly of garbage containers and ventilation equipment. This was quite disappointing, especially since it did not match the attractive room views shown on the hotel’s website. We also experienced a lot of noise from the main street, which made it difficult to sleep with the windows open. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent location, comfortable beds, helpful staff, and the relaxing sauna. With a few improvements, this hotel could be even better.

Very central location in the heart of the beautiful old town. Our room was in the 4th floor, just across a bar where they were blasting music until early morning so cannot say that we would have slept much. The sauna was out of order which was a shame as we were looking forward to it. The room was hot but the view from the room was directly to the bar's terrace next door so we could not have the windows open. The hotel staff were friendly but the hotel itself was a bit old fashioned and the carpets in the room felt a bit unhygiene. Overall, I wish I could have enjoyed the stay a bit more as it was our only trip with my partner this year.

Excellent location; in the center and just a short walk from public transport. Clean room, although unfortunately the carpet on the floor does not give that sense of hygiene that can be found in more modern hotels. The best thing was the view: a picture of St. Olaf's Church. For the rest, the room was really small and narrow, but if you do not have high expectations and just need a base, it is fine.
