Sokos Hotel Viru

The only star I can give is for the location and fast elevators. The hotel should be in my opinion demolished unless the owner completely refurbishes both the hotel and the clientele. We stayed for two nights and did everything we could to keep out of the hotel at all times. Basic things: the bathroom emitted a disgusting smell, probably from the drain. Horribly worn out bathroom with a sunken, broken ceiling and a moldy bath curtain. Small thin worn out towels. I have never had such dead pillows in my life in any hotel. Like 5 euro pillows, 20 years old. The hotel is so run-down that we felt there’s no way the staff would ever anything if we went downstairs and complained. The curtains were not able to keep the sun out at 4 am at night as the curtains do not fit and cover the window properly. The noise from the streets carried even to the uppermost rooms throughout the night. Also noise from the corridors and between the rooms. The ceiling above the bed kept very concerning sounds at night. Like 70’s concrete falling apart. I had to make emergency espace plans. The breakfast was very basic and very busy. On the first morning someone, an adult, vomited in the breakfast lobby. Very difficult to get this sight out of my mind. Do not stay at this hotel unless you are planning a boozing binge and looking for likeminded company.

Very disappointing experience. As a deaf guest, I was initially turned away. Afterwards, people nearby laughed at me, which I found humiliating and disrespectful. I did not feel welcome or treated equally. I hope the hotel improves its attitude and awareness towards guests with disabilities in the future. Leider eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung. Als gehörloser Gast wurde ich zunächst abgewiesen. Danach wurde in meiner Nähe über mich gelacht, was ich als demütigend und respektlos empfand. Ich fühlte mich nicht willkommen und nicht gleich behandelt. Ich hoffe, das Hotel verbessert künftig den Umgang mit Gästen mit Behinderungen.

I was there for 4 night and was given a room on the 20th floor with a horrible smell in the bathroom. Staff has entered the room during my stay and nothing was done. I consider this lousy service.
