St. Olav Hotel Tallinn

When i've booked the Olav hotel, I was quite in a rush so I've just had three key figures: * price * "with breakfast" option and * close to the city center One day before my trip, I've checked the hotel on tripadvisor and went 🤯: 3.2 ... I've never stayed in a hotel with such a low rating.  So expecting something between a prison cell and a dumpster bin, it was quite a pleasant surprise when the first impression was not bad at all. In fact, here're the main pros: • location: right at the start of the old town, you can checkout most sights within walking distance. Furthermore, the main train station is just 7 min away, so you can take the bus (iirc line 2) from/to the airport. • theming: the interior looks like right from the diagon alley... • breakfast: for that price fantastic  Regardless, I can definitely underpin some critics here: • noise: there seem to a club in the vicinity because on Saturday, we heard pumpin techno hyms right up to 03:30 am • paper thin walls: on the next day, we could here the TV (?) of our neighbor like it was in our room. Thanks to that Spanish guy who was reasonable enough to turn down the volume. • the safe was not working, no elevator, i.e. minor inconveniences So overall, I would give it a 3 of 5 + 1 for the cheap price. if you don't stay here on Saturday and you wanna save some bucks for a drink (WHICH YOU'LL NEED), you won't be disappointed. one last pro-tip for Talinn: Buy the Talinn card! it includes ~95% of all sights for which you otherwise have to pay 5-20€. Moreover, public transport is included too so it's really a great bargain.

Did a photo shoot there in a red dress, celebrated New Year's Eve. The interiors are beautiful in the 19th century style. We'll come again.

Terrible hotel with NO A/C and NO FAN in the middle of sumner. NO ELEVATOR as well with the locations are disorganized where you need you need to walk multiple stairs up and down for an extended time. The treatment of U.S. Tourists are is extremely bad and biased!!!!!!!
