Lapland Sky Ounasvaara

We stayed in the Lapland Suite with sauna. The hotel is very good, especially for skiers, as the ski slopes and lifts are right next to it. Everything is clean, well-maintained, and cozy, with comfortable beds and warm bedding. An additional oil-filled radiator can be provided upon request. There is no light pollution since the hotel is located at the top of a hill, so the Aurora can be seen from the rooftop terrace when the sky is clear. It is quite far from Santa Village, and there is no regular or shuttle bus service, so the main options are a taxi (around €40 one way), Uber, or renting a car.

This hotel is not glamorous from outside, but inside the rooms are nice and new. We were visiting with our dogs and had excellent room outside the hotel. Plenty on room, sauna included. Breakfast is always great on Lapland hotels as it was also in this time. And if you love downhill skiing, slopes start right next to hotel.

We stayed at the hotel on our trip to Rovaniemi. The positive first, we had a room with its own sauna - which was really a treat. Also the space was more than sufficient. The disadvantage was that you could see through the sauna into the toilet. The curtain was not opaque. Which means you lay in bed you could watch the other go to the toilet 🙈 At the reception there is always someone there and they help you immediately. Breakfast is highly recommended. What was not quite understandable for us - at the bar the ladies of the reception had to work, which led to waiting at the bar if there was a lot to do at the reception - and vice versa. The minor problems with the drain and door have been included and fixed. As a conclusion, gladly again - due to the location.
