I would say this is the best location. Everything is from walking distance. The staff were friendly. Next trip is already booked! See you next month again!

Scandic Rovaniemi City is pretty much what you expect from a Scandic hotel. It feels familiar and reliable. The staff were friendly, the prices were as expected, and it was a big plus that they had pet-friendly rooms. The location is excellent. The hotel is right in the centre of Rovaniemi, and you can walk to almost everything. Our room was a good size and very clean. We also had our own private sauna, which was a nice bonus. It was tiny – perfect for two adults, maybe three if you don’t mind getting very close! The room had good blackout curtains, but there was some noise from outside. The beds were okay, but nothing special. I personally prefer a softer and more comfortable hotel bed, but everyone has different preferences. The breakfast was the weakest part of our stay. On the first morning, the scrambled eggs were far too runny. I like creamy scrambled eggs, but these were almost liquid and I couldn’t eat them. On the second morning, they were much better, maybe even a little dry. The bacon was also strange. It came in small square pieces and looked and tasted more like fried ham than normal bacon. If this really is bacon, I think Scandic should consider a different product. I wasn’t a big fan of the juice machine either. The juice tasted more like water mixed with concentrate than fresh juice. But the breakfast wasn’t all bad. There was a good choice of bread, cold cuts and other toppings. The baked goods were also good. The cinnamon rolls were sticky, sweet and very tasty. Breakfast: 5/10 Overall, we had a good stay. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly, the location is excellent, and having a private sauna was a nice extra. The breakfast could definitely be better, but I would still happily consider staying here again. Overall experience: 7/10

We stayed at this hotel as a family of four. Unfortunately, the property feels quite old and doesn’t seem to have had any recent renovations or refurbishment. The upholstery on one of the chairs was torn and hanging off, and the mattress for the sofa bed was extremely dirty, which was very disappointing. The only reasons I would consider staying here again are the family rooms, which include a sofa bed so a family of four doesn’t need to book two separate hotel rooms, and the breakfast, which was actually very good with a nice selection of food. Overall, the hotel has potential, but it is in clear need of renovation and better maintenance. The hotel is probably so popular because of the extremely high number of tourists visiting Rovaniemi during the season and the limited accommodation options available. It also attracts many families, as the family rooms with sofa beds are a practical and cost-effective option. However, its popularity should not come at the expense of cleanliness and proper maintenance.
