A very nice arrival experience on our first day. Obviously a beautiful building in a nice setting. Also the terrace and food of the restaurant is very nice. Unfortunately a couple experiences did not meet what you would expect of a five star hotel. Very difficult to have something to drink at the pool. No pro-active service. When I asked reception they told me to go and find a waiter in the restaurant. Since there was a reception going on in the garden I had to go through this crowd in my bathing suit to find someone. Asking reception if this was the process thay said yes. On our last night of our three night stay all guests had to sit at one side of the restaurant, even on the second row and behind the corner with no view, leaving the nicest tables unavailable. Because it was easier for the staff? And they were the whole evening empty. Totally unacceptable if you charge these prices. Also the table linnen (worn out) and staff uniforms (no uniformity) are in desperate need of investment. On departure our suitcases were pushed to us on the parking lot from two meters distance by the bell boy. Not a word or assistance putting them in the car. Total opposite of our arrival experience. So all in all a very nice place but with some very strange and unpleasant experiences. If you charge top prices guests expect top service. Therefore the conclusion; a restaurant with rooms, don't expect the services you would from a five star hotel.
