We arrived in Cannes thinking we has accommodation booked, due to a glitz of our own doing we found ourself in Cannes on a busy weekend with a accommodation. Not a good idea let me tell you. After searching for a room, mew came sorosis this hotel. As we don't usually stay in 2 star hotels, so we were concerned about what our stay would be like. Let me tell you we were presently surprised. The rooms had recently been refurbished. Very clean and comfortable. It was a bit noisy as no double glazing however but our overall experience of this 2 star was great. The service was great too. If you are looking for a 2 star hotel this is a good option. It's not close to the main centre, however there is good public transport near by the hotel. The bus to the Nice Airport leave from directly outside of this hotel, which is very convenient.

We stayed at La Cle Du Sud during the Cannes film festival. It was very pricey during this period (€180 per triple room, excluding breakfast, per night), however we understood that everywhere in the Cannes vicinity is expensive during this period. However, the hotel itself is extremely run down. I don't know how 3 people would fit in the triple room, there were 2 of us and it was a very tight squeeze! There were drill holes in the wall (inexplicably) and limescale around the shower and shower head. The bathroom in general was unclean and there was a lot of dust in the room. Service wise - some staff were friendlier than others. We were surprised that our colleague's room (a single room) was not ready on our arrival at 3.30pm. The worst experience however was when we returned to discover that a laptop and iPhone had been stolen from our room on the final evening. We had locked our room upon leaving and it was unlocked upon our return. A small sum of money was also missing. We reported this at once to the night porter who was very helpful in trying to put together a report for the police, but this was ripped up by the manager of the hotel and the tone of the experience changed immediately from being helpful to very cold. My colleague was recommended not to call the police that evening for some reason. There was a safety deposit box in the room but it was tiny and would not fit a laptop. Overall we had a very unpleasant experience in the hotel and it was exacerbated by the reaction we received from certain staff members when trying to gain assistance in reporting our room robbery.
