Hotel Club Vacanciel De Menton

We just returned for our long planned vacation to France and our stay at Hotel l’orangerie was the low point of the trip. We arrived to find that the air conditioning was out in the peak of summer. I did specifically book hotels with AC for our trip because I have been to Europe many times and am aware AC is not always available. We were not informed until we literally got to our room and it was hot as hell (the lobby and some rooms apparently had ac we would come to find). We were told we could get a 50% refund for our stay (there was literally no place available - I looked and we were exhausted) we stayed three hot miserable nights there. Upon leaving we asked about the refund and they said they would have to validate with their office before proceeding (lie). Upon returning home days later I sent an email and was asked to send my bank account information to someone named Elodie in order to process my refund. I replied and asked to have it credited to the credit I card I had paid in full with when I booked the stay. Still have not heard back and I don’t expect that I will. If you are going to Menton please find another hotel. These people could not care less about their customers servies and worse come off as scammers for your personal information. Very dangerous in a fraud sensitive would. Would not recommend at all.

Beautiful hotel with a lovely garden. The air conditioning has not been working in some rooms for about 10 days or more according to other reviews during the peak summer season. Decent food, nothing more, for a 3-star hotel. Friendly staff. A young manager who lacks finesse with his clientele, shows no empathy for disabled individuals, does not enforce his own internal regulations, and allows incivility in his hotel. A bit disappointing but especially very disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel despite its lovely setting.

stay at the orangeraie menton with a person with reduced mobility... arrival for a 15-day stay, we were installed in a room for people with reduced mobility knowing that the air conditioning was not working, 29° in the room. we therefore complained and had to change rooms. the problem was well known to management since many customers came to complain at the front desk. some people even received compensation in exchange for continuing their stay without changing rooms. Anyway, back to my issue.... Upon our arrival as a person with reduced mobility using a wheelchair, I was assigned an outdoor spot because, as I was told at the front desk, the covered parking is reserved for other people. A spot I paid 126 euros for for the stay. So far so good... except that since my assigned spot was outside and given that arrivals happen every day, I regularly find the spot occupied by other tourists, most of the time foreigners. Following a return from a drive (yes, everything is complicated to do on foot or by public transport), I find the spot occupied by a person without any disabled parking permit. So I go to the front desk and I meet the hotel manager who tells me, and I quote: (it is not my job to manage incivility, that I should just unload my wife and go park elsewhere) what a shame these remarks, unloading her like a suitcase or equipment and parking somewhere else while leaving her to fend for herself... is that the response of someone who is supposed to manage an establishment... A table was also supposed to be reserved at the restaurant to be next to the buffet, and there again, every day this table is occupied by able-bodied people, often foreigners, and it is always a hassle to get the table. The pool as well, the lounge chairs occupied by people (foreigners) who place their towels and come back later, sometimes only a few minutes later, or who even eat hamburgers... The bar, which has closing times and where some days there is no one left 15 minutes before closing... I still have this response from the manager: here you are in a 3-star hotel... well, I think he is a bit pretentious and that he does not consider people with a disability as well as foreigners, otherwise he would have asked for my wife to get out of the car in front of the hotel and not to unload the package... In short, pathetic for a 3-star... stay away
