I agree with some reviews, not a 4 star hotel, should be a 3…good aspects: staff is amazing and location is great. There are board games and beach items to borrow in the lobby area. Also has a coffee machine, a water refill station and a micro-wave. Rooms are very pretty, with bright turquoise walls. Double rooms are spacious and beds are good BUT yes, maintenance is desperately needed. Cleaning wasn’t great (lots of dust under the bed, dirty towels found in the room). AC is indeed not remote-controlled, it’s a fixed feature on the wall and who knows if they change air filters…no option to change the temperature, it’s just a snowflake icon and three different vent icons. View from the room is the railroad, so not very 4 star like. Breakfast is ok, not groundbreaking and not super fresh either. Breakfast room is very tiny and only with four seats, so if you are eating alone, you take up a table of 4. The main problem is that I actually couldn’t sleep at night because of the STENCH in the room. This hotel clearly has a sewer problem and people should know about that. It makes it very uncomfortable to stay in the room because it stinks so much. Of course, I closed the bathroom door, even put a glass on both the drain in the shower and in the sink but that didn’t change anything. I used room spray, and lavender to help but it’s so bad, it woke me up. The sink does not drain properly. I don’t know if that is only in my room or throughout the hotel but please work on this, that is not ok for a 4 star hotel!!! Too bad, it has great potential otherwise.

Adequate rooms with a boutique feel. The room itself was actually more spacious than we expected. The bathroom was quite small, but it was clean and fit for purpose. I had seen reviews about the shower, but it was actually quite spacious and the water pressure was generally okay. Our room had a Juliet balcony, which gave us somewhere to hang beach towels to dry. There is a TV in the room and plug sockets next to the bed. The hotel Wi-Fi works well. As the hotel is close to the station, it can be a little noisy, so I’d recommend bringing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. That said, we couldn’t really hear any noise from within the hotel itself. Fresh towels were provided and the beds were made every day. The room also had tea and coffee making facilities, a mini fridge, comfortable beds and effective air conditioning. There was a full length mirror inside the wardrobe. The location is good - around a five minute walk from Nice Ville station, with bus and tram stops nearby, making it the perfect base if you’re planning to explore the surrounding area. It’s about a 20–30 minute walk to the Promenade des Anglais and the beach. The airport is less than a 20 minute taxi ride away (costing under €20). It would also be easy to reach the airport by train. There are plenty of bars and restaurants just beyond the station, around a 10 minute walk away, as well as lots of local cafés and shops nearby. One of the nicest touches was that guests could borrow beach towels, umbrellas and ping pong bats free of charge. We were also given a complimentary welcome drink from the fridge in the lobby, along with a small welcome gift that included a fan. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was always someone available during the day, and at night you could access the hotel using your room key. There is a small lift for taking luggage upstairs. On our last day, we were able to leave our cases at the hotel and use the lobby toilet to get changed before heading to the airport. We were also pleasantly surprised to be able to check in much earlier than expected on arrival. I am not sure whether this is because we had added a note to the booking saying what time we would land or just coincidence! There is a free water dispenser and coffee machine in the lobby, which we found really useful. We didn’t book breakfast, but we were told it could be added on any morning for a reasonable price. However, we didn’t get a chance to try it. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfortable, budget friendly base in Nice with transport links. We booked directly through the hotel’s website and it worked out much cheaper than booking through Booking.com.

Cozy hotel with everything you need for a nice city trip. Super professional staff. We got a drink on arrival and you can fill water bottles during your stay and take them to the room. Extra nice is the service where you can borrow beach towels and even a parasol for the beach (only 15 minutes walk by the way). The hotel is near the station for trips to Cannes or Monaco (easy to organize yourself). To go right back to.
