Hotel Le Grimaldi Nice

Stayed 9 days in the top floor suite with a great view of the church tower and beyond. Great location. Close to grocery, Pharmacy, Beach and many restaurants. It is also close to the tram which has access to and from the airport. (about 25 mins). Our suite was equipped with a comfortable queen bed and 2 bathrooms. Mysteriously, the toilet is in a small "closet" with little ventilation. Going in there makes you feel like you've been punished. The bathrooms have had a recent upgrade and are clean and modern. The room itself is blend of vintage furniture. There is a mini-fridge and coffee/ tea making pod machine. These are very welcomed. The breakfast room was nice with a good variety to satisfy most people. Thankfully the 6th floor suite was equipped with a "Mini split" air conditioning system as we were there during a particularly hot week. Furthermore as hot air rises, the top floor hallway was a sauna. To alleviate this problem an exhaust fan should be installed by the visible roof access hatch. NOTE: It seems that *every* door in the building needs a few drops of oil on the hinges. All the doors when moved yielded with a slow, agonizing groan that echoed through the hallways. You could not miss when someone left or returned to their room. Surely it cannot be that difficult to have someone put a few drops of lubricant on doors throughout the hotel? How was this ever overlooked? There is a small elevator good for 2 people. As a result, the stairs are often used. On more than one occasion we found bags of laundry on the stairs impeding safe passage. This is a serious tripping hazard and they should not be put there even if only for a moment. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is an 7.5 out of 10. There is room for improvement. There are beach parasols and towels available in the lobby. We took a taxi to the airport (expensive) due to our very early flight but would recommend using the tram or an Uber or Bolt. Special thanks goes to Etienne as well as the ladies that keep the breakfast area filled and clean. I recommend the hotel. We had a pleasant week there.

We stayed nine days at the hotel in a corner room on the fifth floor, which had an outdoor balcony with space for two and a small table as well as 2 sun loungers. The chairs are miserable they are extremely deep and for very tall people. You don't sit well in them because they're so deep. I'm 162 cm. And had to sit on the edge otherwise almost I lay down in the chair in an uncomfortable way. (lived several times before and the same chairs on the other corner room bee has lived in) One should change them to comfortable chairs. 😀 Facilities included an elevator, small fridge, TV, 1 nice big bed, bathroom. There was also a seating area and a small work area that could serve as a desk. Free water and coffee or tea are also offered. Breakfast with many lovely things including pancakes - and croissant during the day. Location is close to Place Messina, Old Town and Promenade Anglaise. Close to tram and train. We were in Ventemilja market that Friday (Italy), wouldFrance took grace to saint tropez (2,5 hours), where market Tuesday and Saturday. Can highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and friendly, helpful staff who also speak English. And not least location. Wish: switch chairs on balconies to head comfortable chairs, bees all can sit well in and enjoy it out on the balcony. I tried st putting a head pillow on it. Didn't help. Mvh Pernille

We stayed seven days at the hotel in a sixth floor room which had an outdoor balcony with seating for two and a small table. Amenities included an elevator, small fridge, TV, queen bed, two bathrooms, one with a walk in shower and one with a tub. There was also a seating area and small work area that could serve as a desk. Free water and coffee or tea is also provided. Breakfast is available. The location is near Place Messina, old town and Promenade Anglaise. We never used the train and used uber for out of town trips to Antibes, Eze, St. Paul de Vence etc... I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and friendly, helpful staff that also speaks English.
