Villa Aramis - Bed & Breakfast

I don't understand why there are so many mediocre/bad reviews. I stayed here for only one night, but we (me and my boyfriend) wish we could stay more. We booked a double room (through hostelworld) and were given a massive, beautiful room with its own balcony and large window. The bed was very comfy, the room was clean and towels included. The breakfast was great, with a selection of jams (some home-made), fresh baguettes, brioche, a range of cereals, tea, coffee and juices. There was a living room and kitchen available to use (both nice as well), and a garden which we didn't use. It is a guest house, so basically you are renting a room and sharing the facilities with other guests, but that's nice to meet other travellers. Nicolas, the owner, we met in the morning. A lot of people seemed to have complained about him not being there but I don't see why it's such a big problem, considering everything that we were given, the big breakfast prepared and he leaves his contact details. There are two adorable little dogs, not too barky or messy. Having read some other reviews here I think people have been very unfair, if not picky, for a price of 35 euros (2ppl) per night, with all the facilities. If they were expecting privacy and a less 'run-down' place maybe they should have booked a hotel. We are young travellers, so perhaps it is why we are more relaxed about these things, but I really cannot fault the place except for its location, which was a 30 minute walk to the beach, 20 minutes to the centre, 10 to the train station. But if that's a problem the tram is right outside your door.

Cold rooms (at least the room for 3 people), wifi worked only occassionally, rooms looks different than in photos. They couldn't accept Visa credit cards. The personnel were friendly and nice. For one night stay only!

This really feels like a guesthouse, not a hotel, very very far from. It feels run down. Lot of repairs that need to be done. Ugly details. But personally, to me, it has its charms. The staff is very relaxed and nice. And it's not dirty; cleaning is done as it should. I love the animals (not for everyone?). The location close to the tramway station (that runs to almost 2 o'clock at night) is actually excellent. And WiFi just worked, nice! The place just could be so very much more. The patio could be upgraded many times on. This could be a real gem. It's not today though (summer of 2015). If they repair and renovate some (and I can see pictures of this), I'd be the first to raise the grade I give them. I'll stay posted.
