Hotel Couleurs Sud

Arrived on Tuesday, August 25 for 3 nights (booked in June), we were supposed to have a comfort double room and a comfort twin room for our friends. The latter turned out to be standard, with a miniature bathroom; the kind you find on a boat or in a low-end chain hotel, less than 2m2, toilet included! Great disappointment, therefore, when we were told the next morning that we could not change rooms because the hotel was full. We doubted this a lot because at breakfast, there were never more than 5 people at a time (for 46 rooms). But our problems were not over; in the evening when we returned, our friends' room had not been cleaned and the towels were wet. There, a "manager" (only visible in the evening) brings up a pack of towels that our friends would have been hard-pressed to hang, as nothing was provided in the bathroom. The next evening, he announces, very proud, that he obtained a 15% discount; but upon going up to our rooms, we notice that our two rooms have not been made up. Lacking toilet paper, we go down to ask for some at the front desk, where the young man on duty tells us that "the boss is going to let the cleaning lady go." In short, over 3 nights, service was done 1 time for the twin room and 2 times for the double. We tried to have dinner the first evening but two dishes in 2.5 hours made us flee the other evenings. As for the breakfasts, the pastries were plentiful but really not good and a coffee machine was broken during our entire stay, forcing us to go get it at the bar!

I had come to this hotel a long time ago; it had a cozy, endearing, old-fashioned charm. Now, it is quite dilapidated without having kept, unfortunately, the previous character. The establishment is well located, close to the city center and the train station. The room was basic but clean. There is no soundproofing, and you hear a lot of noise coming from the other rooms, which is very annoying. The welcome from a gentleman is not very warm. A bit of an impression of being a bother. In short, I had a good memory of it, but I was disappointed.

After a car problem, we just happened to be here, a receptionist who really did everything for us to have fun. Lovely three-course dinner at an affordable price. Simple and old rooms but clean and affordable. Recommend this place. We will be back in a week when we will also return the rental car and our car is finished.
