Auberge Du Balesti

We visited as pilgrims on the St Jacques de Compostello pilgrimage and felt very well cared for. Our hosts were delightful and helpful. Our meals were outstanding. The restaurant features specialties from the region and does a great job.

A very fine place to stay with warm hosts who gave us the feeling of a warm home. Clean rooms, good honest food with a good selection of local wines and fine tips for traveling around. The hosts are always open for fun and loving and a good conversation.

We had a lovely meal at this Auberge. The owner, Alex, was incredibly friendly and shared information about the area. The menu choices were varied and there is something for everyone. The prix fixe is great value too. The onion tart was really good (like a quiche). The salmon was delicious and others thoroughly enjoyed the cassoulet and the quail stuffed with foix gras. Desserts were also delicious. The servers were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. There is a good wine selection too. I would call ahead to make a reservation.
