Best Western Hotel Le Donjon

We spent 3 wonderful days in Carcassonne and stayed at this randomly picked hotel. How lucky we were! Full of quirky details, the hotel was perfectly situated inside the medieval city walls within easy walking distance of lots of lovely places to eat and drink as well as the entrance to the castle. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning in the room was most welcome in the 36° heat. The breakfast catered for all tastes and was delicious. We were impressed by the assistance given by hotel staff in helping us book and get to the taxi for our return home. The only small downside was the 4pm check in, which was non-negotiable, as we had been travelling from Ireland since 00.30 and were extremely tired, particularly in the intense heat. If you are visiting Carcassonne I would highly recommend this hotel 😊

Hotel le Donjon is not ultra-luxurious but it's clean, comfortable and characterful. Perfect location in the heart of the medieval city. Efficient, quiet aircon, pretty garden, great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Good value for money and a pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

Nice clean Hotel in the middle of the old town of Carcassonne. Rooms probably need some renovation in the near future but still good. Overall very reasonable for being in the center of a historic touristic site. Also important, you can bring your dog. The team from reception to breakfast was very friendly and helpful. Your luggage is brought from the parking spot to the hotel, super service. We can honestly recommend the hotel when you plan to visit Carcassonne end experience the old town when the loads of tourists have left the city in the evening .
