Grand Tonic Hotel Marseille Vieux Port

While the hotel is a bit smaller than i thought (the entrance is on the side street not the huge front which are used by other restaurants). There is a grand hall for reception BUT the hotel makes up for it with 5 star service. The breakfast is also 5 star (lots of attention to details and selection. Hotel right on the port of Marseille at the metro exit, near the docks for maritime excursions. Very comfortable and clean with very helpful, friendly staff who provide good advice. I knew this hotel a few years ago; the rooms were a bit outdated. Now, a whole section has been renovated in very good taste in a style that is both modern and natural, which fits very well with the Provençal context. New bedding, with exceptional comfort. Large shower. L'Occitane toiletries. One of the highlights of this hotel, aside from the location, is undoubtedly the breakfast, both for the setting and the offerings. The dining area is particularly warm and cozy, with a direct view of the harbor. Enjoying a delicious breakfast while watching the boats arrive and depart, under the sun, on a deep blue sea is truly a special moment (even while in the city!). As for the products offered, it is an explosion of flavors. There are even unusual offerings for a hotel, such as strawberries and artisanal pistachio yogurts, a true discovery. There is even a table of 13 Provençal desserts, around an olive tree... Pagnol in luxury version.

The hotel in the old style, with spectacular location. The view on the Old Port is fantastic. The climate of this venue unforgettable, mainly thanks the engaged staff. Good breakfast served in charming room. The main drawback is the size of the rooms, although they are tasty arranged and have soundproof windows.
