Marie-Christine made us feel so welcome in her home in the middle of lovely St. Rèmy. We hated to leave the charming courtyard that she tends to with her lovable chien, Bonnie. With hearty petit dejeuner, Maison Saint Remy d'Isidore was the perfect location for day trips throughout Provence. By the time we left, we felt like we were saying “au revoir" to a new friend.

St Remy is certainly a quaint little town, with narrow winding streets and beckoning alleys. Maison d'Isidore fits right into this scene. It displays a beautiful flower filled stone courtyard, with high walls and a winding staircase. The property is located very near the plaza, and is tucked away. We found it a bit difficult to locate at first, so we parked the car and called Christine. She promptly met us and helped us get settled in. Once installed it's a breeze. There is free parking; but it is a bit of a walk, so it's best to park in the plaza, and unload your suitcases there. We traveled in September, and the weather was perfect. We had reserved the top most room, so we knew there would be a bit of baggage lugging to get to our room. This might have presented a problem if it had been raining, because the courtyard is open. The room was very spacious with a small private terrace attached at the top. The bathroom has a tub/shower, and was very adequate. There was a small refrigerator and TV located in the room. We loved our room, and my only criticism would be that the bed was a little too firm for me. My husband had no problem. Christine, our hostess, couldn't have been more accommodating, allowing me to do some laundry, and we enjoyed coffee brought to the room each morning, since we didn't take the free breakfasts offered. There are a good number of nice restaurants in town and we visited a few of them. Before we left we asked Christine to do a special favor for us, which she readily agreed to. During our stay in the Ariege, my husband had used his credit card, not a debit, at a gas pump on a Sunday. The card was immediately reused with fraudulent charges. We called Citibank, and they said a new one would be directly on it's way. Since we would be traveling for six weeks, we did need it. Word to the wise, always take two cards along. There seemed to be some mix-up with the card delivery by DHL so we had to cancel the new card and have Christine destroy it when it arrived. We were fortunate to have her help. Now on to our next stop, in the Ardeche. If you do stay at Maison d'Isidore say hello to her new puppy Bonnie from us. He's a real cutie!

We loved our stay at Maison Saint Remy d'isidore. Our 2 story room was comfortable, well appointed and the linens and bed comfort couldn't have been better. Christine was a great hostess. We so much enjoyed the atmospheric courtyard (it helped that the weather was ideal). Breakfast and the breakfast room far exceeded our expectations. So glad we chose Maison Saint Remy d'isidore!
