Holiday Inn Express Marseille Provence Airport

Soul-less hotel with minimal service. The hotel is really not up to the standard of a 4-star French or European hotel, and even less worthy of the IHG group. As an IHG member and Platinum Expedia member, I expected a minimum of consideration from the hotel. I booked a superior suite, 1 room, and found myself in a basic suite facing the parking lot on the ground floor. All night, we endured the noise of cars and guests coming in and out of the hotel, as well as the noise from the guests above who were moving tables and chairs. One thing is certain: we will not return to this establishment to catch an early flight at Marseille Provence airport.

Accommodations were not even close to 4 star, the restaurant and bar were quite shady, and the staff were incredibly sullen and rude (with the exception of the shuttle driver). I have realistic expectations for an airport hotel but this was so unpleasant.

Conveniently located hotel near Marseille airport with shuttle service available. The rooms are good size, and everything was clean and offers a small fridge. We have where to settle outside by the pool. Consider offering the waiter to visit people outside/by the pool to buy them something to drink. That would be a nice plus 😌 We had taken the room with breakfast package, and there was a bit of everything for everyone even gluten-free bread for my dietary restrictions. Very appreciated and the lady at lunch very friendly! We also had the evening meal at the restaurant, and we were the only ones. The service could have been improved and a little more inviting by the two young men who were there. Overall, we had a good stay, and even the welcome was very good and detailed by the front desk attendant. Unfortunately I can’t say the same at the departure, there were three people at the reception talking to each other and we seemed to be bothering when handing over the keys for the departure. No one thanked us for our stay or asked how it went, too bad. So service to improve; a little inconsistent. Even the shuttleman, a beautiful smile would make all the difference! It would be nice to make the suitcase weigh-in free. I must mention the comfort of the bed which was good!
