SOLEMARE

We spent, as every year, a superb stay at the Hotel Solemare in Bonifacio. Special mention for the welcome and friendliness of the staff who go out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

The hotel is centrally located on the harbour. From the pool a beautiful view of the harbor and the citadel. We had a good 4p. Room with good beds, spacious bathroom, nice shower and air conditioning. Very satisfied with it. Minus was the sewage smell in the room. We especially heard the music from across the street on Saturday night, but we had earplugs and we had shutters in the windows that also helped something. The staff at reception were formal. Not unfriendly but it was mainly about what could and could not be done. We didn't really feel welcome in this hotel. They are also not child-friendly. Breakfast we took once (the cheaper variety) but there is more value for money at the harbor.

Small room, not cleaned properly for weeks. Small unusable balcony. Shower entrance only 40cm wide. Water pressure low. Unsupportive bed. No glasses in room. Kettle could only be plugged in on the floor or in bathroom. Thumping disco across the water until 1.30sm. Rudest reception staff encountered for years at 1.30pm (reduced stay by one night as a result). No towels at pool. Overpriced for what it is. Plus points: nice pool, nice view, free parking, late afternoon/evening receptionist helpful and smiling.
