Le Manoir Des Portes

Surprising, confusing, to, in the end, be left with a strange and negative impression. The surprise can come from the welcome, from the service far from the supposed professionalism of the manager. Curious as well to see him bring glasses already served in his hands (rather than table-side bottle service), bringing plates to the guests without care. Confusing when the same owner admits to knowing nothing about wines, strives repeatedly to assert that the products are local and fresh, when in reality some dishes obviously come out of the freezer (some of the carrots were totally cold when the rest of the compositions were hot...). Quite strange to hear him defend his attire when nothing obliges him to, and to state right off the bat that it bothers some people, to claim that the restaurant is running at full capacity when the tables are sparse, or not to offer an aperitif or a refreshment when you are enjoying the garden before sitting down to eat. In the end, we had already visited this address a few months earlier and left with the unpleasant impression that the quality is overrated and the welcome forced. Too bad because the site is very beautiful.

We celebrated our wedding at the Manoir des Portes and, honestly, we could not have dreamed of a more beautiful place. The estate is magnificent and offers several possibilities for organizing the reception according to your wishes: under the marquee, at the drawbridge level, or in the dining room. Everything is customizable, which allows you to create a wedding that reflects your style. Coming from the Landes, we were very apprehensive about organizing it from a distance. But Emmanuel and Vinita knew how to reassure us from the very first contact. They are incredibly kind, available, caring, and always attentive. Emmanuel is an endearing person who is passionate about what he does. With Vinita, they form a wonderful team. Trust them with your eyes closed: the result will exceed your expectations, as it did for us. The meal was a unanimous hit with all our guests. Everything was delicious, with a special mention for the barbecue-cooked meat, which was absolutely succulent. We are still receiving compliments today on the quality of the meal. My husband, myself, and all our guests are still on cloud nine. Everything was beautiful, perfectly organized, and filled with emotion. This day will remain etched in our memories. Finally, the rooms are magnificent, very comfortable, with high-quality bedding. We slept like babies there. A huge thank you to Emmanuel and Vinita for making our wedding a magical and unforgettable moment. If you are looking for an exceptional place with extraordinary hosts, do not hesitate for a single second: the Manoir des Portes is simply a gem.
