Hotel La Hoirie

Stayed for two nights. We had a double comfort room in the new building - very nice for a short stay and has aircon too! Nice room and bathroom but you’d want more space for a longer stay and a balcony. Nice pool, top notch restaurant and excellent staff throughout.

We spent 6 days (5 nights) in a nice, quiet place in the company of my elderly sister. Nothing to say about the welcoming staff, but I would not recommend this hotel for a stay of more than 48 hours. There is no comfortable lounge area (armchairs, AC, game tables), so if you want to get together you have to go outside (avoid the heatwave) on outdoor garden chairs and without at least a seat cushion for comfort. no possibility of snacking or having a drink before the evening. My sister has relative autonomy, we could not leave her at the hotel, which forced us to be there every day to take her to lunch. failed tourist trip! The restaurant is good but the menu is always the same, so after 5 dinners we had exhausted the possibilities. no menu adapted to the heat of the season. I would add that our room was not cleaned for two days in a row. If we were supposed to vacate the room for cleaning, where is the air-conditioned lounge? Final point: if you have to go to the dining room when it is raining, do not forget your umbrella because you have to go outside the hotel to get there. We spent two nights, one with Wonderbox, at a charming hotel on the outskirts of Sarlat. A warm welcome, a room in the former stables of this old hunting lodge, which is spacious and well-equipped. We were with our dog, and the choice of this ground-floor room that opens directly onto the garden was perfect. The restaurant is semi-gastronomic, with a unique menu that can appeal to a wide audience. The menu is a bit expensive, especially with the box, as if one wants a dessert, it is an additional €9 per person. Traditional buffet-style breakfast that is sufficiently hearty. This hotel is a charming place and truly offers good value with a box.
