Kyriad Chartres

Since October 1, 2025, this Kyriad hotel has become a Novotel. Reasonable room rates but no catering in the evening come during the weekend. However, about twenty Tesla stations to charge electric cars.

We stayed one night in July and one night in August. In July, we were in a non-refurbished room on the 1st floor and the restaurant was closed due to refurbishment so we had to drive to find somewhere to eat in the evening, although breakfast was provided in a temporary meeting room in the morning. In August, we were in a refurbished room on the 2nd floor (207) which was lovely apart from the fact that there was only one beside table for a double bed. On the other side there was a soft topped stool so unable to balance a glass of water on it for during the night, which was quite inconvenient. In the end, I moved the tea tray from the main table in the room and placed it on the stool! The restaurant was open this time. The food was ok but not a lot of choice and even though we booked quite early for 19.30, they had already run out of the fish option. Also, we were charged a tourist tax at reception in August but not in July? Overall, it was a comfortable stay in August and I would award 5 stars with just a few tweaks. (Definitely needs two bedside tables).

The dining room is being completely refurbished meaning dreadful noise between 9am and 6pm, even on the top floor, and no dinner being served.
