Brit Hotel Romantica

Our children had gifted us a five-night stay at this hotel so that we could have a pleasant time as a couple. What a disappointment! The only romantic element of this establishment is its name. Upon our arrival, we noticed that the services were very far from the standards one has the right to expect from a 3-star hotel, especially considering the rates charged. The room was in an advanced state of disrepair: worn, stained, dirty carpeting that gave off a strong, unpleasant odor. The whole place gave a general impression of a lack of maintenance. The bedding is without a doubt the most catastrophic part of our stay. The mattress is extremely uncomfortable, to the point that a fakir's bed would seem almost more welcoming. The pillows are of very poor quality and the mattress protectors had yellowish stains, hair, and fur on them. We also had serious suspicions of bed bugs, which is absolutely unacceptable in a hotel establishment. The bathroom was just as deplorable: mold, significant limescale buildup on the shower wall, a yellowed shower tray, and cleanliness that was more than questionable. One can legitimately wonder if cleaning is actually done between guests. The soundproofing is almost nonexistent. We heard the conversations, movements, and noises from the neighboring rooms for a good part of the night, making any rest impossible. The wellness areas are also very disappointing. The indoor pool gives off a very strong smell of chlorine (or bleach), which is particularly unpleasant and makes you not want to stay there for long at all. As for the outdoor pool, it is very small and the water seemed much colder to us than the advertised temperature. For a 34-room hotel, only three lounge chairs are made available to guests, which is simply ridiculous in the middle of the season. The hotel's location is of no particular interest and certainly does not constitute an asset that could compensate for the establishment's numerous failings. Breakfast, charged at a particularly high rate, is far from being up to par: very little choice, mediocre quality, and an unwelcoming dining room. The price-quality ratio is totally unjustified. After an almost sleepless night, a back completely bruised by the bedding, and deep disappointment with the general state of the establishment, we preferred to cut our stay short and leave the very next day, thus giving up the remaining four nights. Our advice: do not rely on the photos published on booking sites. Instead, take the time to consult the numerous negative reviews, which unfortunately reflect the reality of this establishment. In our eyes, the price asked is totally disproportionate with regard to the services offered. For a 3-star hotel, it is simply unacceptable. A complete renovation of the establishment, as well as a real upgrade of the services, seem essential today.

Charming hotel :) superb pool with pleasant rooms. A calm and beautiful place near typical small Norman villages!

An aging hotel, dusty and uncomfortable rooms, bathrooms with mold and soap-free. We stayed one night with family (2 bedrooms) where the stay was ruined by this choice of hotel! A hotel with 2 swimming pools, a gym and a bar? Everything is so badly maintained. Between the worn carpets, the deserted bar and the gym with old equipment, we only wanted to...run away! There is still the 19 euro breakfast test where the displays are empty or decorated exclusively with frozen industrial products.
